ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — As small businesses continue to reopen, owners are faced with a whole new list of challenges. There is a networking group helping these businesses make the comeback together.
Peaceful Warriors Wellness Center MM35712, in St. Pete, is back doing massages after being closed for eight weeks. Before they could begin working out kinks in the neck, they had to work out the kinks of reopening in a COVID-19 world. Their first priority was masks.
“I ordered about 20 off the Internet, they don’t feel right,” said Lena Roberts, who owns the business with her husband Scott.
That’s when they turned to Mark O’Donnell and the Revenue Generating Activity network also known as RGA.
Mark O’Donnell with RGA said they are, “Turning obstacles into opportunities.”
RGA holds Zoom conference calls on a daily basis with dozens of local business owners, constantly sharing ideas and resources when it comes to reopening. They have more than 800 members.
“It’s sort of like speed dating, only its speed networking, who is a good referral for you, how can I refer you, what do you need this week,” said O’Donnell.
“There were several chiropractors that we had meet through RGA and saw and watched what they’ve done to change their businesses and we came in here and adapted it into ours,” said Lena Roberts.
RGA was able to match the wellness center up with Tina Morrison, who not only delivered the masks they were looking for, but also put their name right on them.
“They have been shut down for so long they don’t think about how they can market their business and still do it in a way that encourages their customers to feel comfortable coming back,” said Morrison, of Advertising Concepts of Madiera.
Peaceful Warriors Wellness Center MM35712 said it’s nice to know that small businesses are looking out for each other, they are all in this together.
“It opens up your mind, it broadens your horizons, so when I went into business nine years ago I never thought I’d need a jingle, and we have a jingle,” said Scott Roberts.
“It was heart felt for me to listen to our members who said, ‘you kept my business alive,’” said O’Donnell.
