WSI – Gibbons Group – Rich Gibbons
I'm Rich Gibbons, Chief Marketing Strategist with WSI Gibbons Group.
I work with owner-led service businesses—commercial construction, home services, and IT firms—that have grown past the point where the owner can scale alone. Most of these owners have tried marketing tactics, spent real money, and wondered why nothing stuck. They never diagnosed what's actually stopping them. That's where I come in—I figure out the real constraint before anyone sells them a tactic.
I spent 20 years in financial services at BNY Mellon, Fidelity, State Street, and Citigroup reading business systems and cash flow. I've run IT service delivery and customer relationships for tech-enabled firms, so I get the operational squeeze that traps business owners. And I've built one commercial construction client from zero to seven figures in revenue, which taught me what works in the real world.
Here's the pattern I see: owners invest 90% of their energy in execution and marketing, when they should invest 10% in getting the strategy right first. That 10% makes the other 90% actually work. Skip the diagnosis, and you're throwing money at symptoms. My process is straightforward.
We map where you actually stand—revenue, margin, customer flow, whatever matters.
Then we isolate the real constraint. Is it lead generation? Sales conversion? Operations? Scaling the team?
Once we know, everything else clicks into place. I don't position myself as the person who executes the work. I'm the person who figures out what work matters, then connects you to WSI's network of specialists who deliver it.
Sandler Sales training keeps me asking good questions instead of pitching solutions.
I'm looking for referral partners who talk to service business owners doing $3 to $10 million in revenue.
If you hear an owner say, "We're busy but I'm still doing everything," or "I don't know where our next clients come from," that's someone I want to meet.
A quick intro is all it takes.
I joined RGA because this is where real relationships happen, and that's how I build my practice.
